Karen is so skilled. She seems to understand my curly hair even better than I do, and keeps me looking good and in the latest style. I know I don’t have to go into my appointment with photos and long descriptions of what I’m hoping to look like. She asks good questions, knows what she’s talking about, and deeply wants to make me happy. Nowdays, I don’t tell her anything; I just trust that she’ll make my hair look great.

If first impressions are everything, Banzai Hair Studio exceeds expectations in every way. It was an exceedingly bad hair day that forced me on to Granville Street near closing on a Saturday seeking an emergency hair intervention. Chuck must have seen that I was a “woman on the edge” because he quickly did some schedule reorganizing to accommodate my “need an appointment now request” and this meant my stylist would be working late. Serendipitously the stars were aligned, and I was assigned to the fabulous Winnie Sun (see my Winnie shout-out) and the rest is history. I look forward to visiting Banzai where the staff are genuine, sincere, fun and professional. It is a great credit to Chuck and Tomoko that Banzai imbues a most welcome, relaxing and friendly environment such that all you have to do is enter and relax.
Winnie Sun from Banzai a hair artist! She raises the bar on talent, skill and customer service. A litany of haircuts later, and I still marvel at Winnie’s ability to make my modest head of hair look fabulous…every single time. At every appointment she consistently takes time to listen to my requests and questions, generously accommodates my idiosyncrasies, studies my head and hair for “growing out” patterns, all of which contribute to an amazing customer experience and an awesome haircut…and all wrapped up in Winnie’s inimitable style of humble confidence, and most delightful personality. Thank you Winnie.
